Attracted by the concept of Apple's iPad 2 Smart Cover but not really bought in by the polyurethane or leather exterior? The Miniot iPad Cover offers the same functionality — magnets, stands, and all — but is carved from a single piece of the finest woods, turning your iPad into a divine trio of wood, metal, and glass. Thanks, Brice & Tai. Visit miniot's site for more info.

Sun in home

Sun in home? Almost literally. Made possible by the SIH system created by Si Chung Noh from Feelux, this lighting stems from the philosophy of interrelating lighting conditions and a person's biorhythm. Under cool lighting conditions, we experience increased alertness with the increase of some hormones, which also change in levels with warm lighting that brings about a calmer mood, and decrease in stress levels in us. Especially for those who are enclosed beside doors throughout the day busy at work, this lighting is sure to set you on the right pace at work. Curious? It may be available for a sneak preview at our store, so stay tuned.

Something futuristic? Not exactly. This is not a very new thing in the market, but it still wows many! Fancy telling time with chrome ball bearings that land one by one on the multi-tier tracks minute by minute and hour by hour? The last ball is dropped a level to mark a twelfth of the hour while the rest are flushed to the ball bearing time hopper. Listen to the clack of connecting metal balls and the creaking sound of the levers, and it could well keep you entertained for a very long time.

A Furry Red New Year

Soft to the touch, perhaps this set of felt-made angbaos will leave your friends and relatives a distinctive impression in this furry New Year of the Rabbit. Reusable with innovative pockets at the sides and packaged in a set of five with nicely cut out designs of 'fu', 'chun' and of course the Rabbit design (oh by the way that's coincidentally the logo of MRKT too!), it could possibly save your grace even if what's inside the ang bao isn't as beckoning. You can grab these quirky angbaos at our store at The Cathay (#02-13). It's not too late yet, as we're still up and running throughout this festive period.
